Philly Halloween Weekend Guide
curated & written by @ryan
Halloween weekend is upon us! Here’s a list of some of the top fun events going on in the city; ranging from family friendly to adult only.

Drive-in Movie
South Philly
The Pennsylvania SPCA is teaming up with IKEA to host a spooky drive-in movie night at IKEA South Philadelphia’s sprawling parking lot on Saturday, October 30, 2021 beginning at 5:30pm. Priority seating is available for those who wish to sit upfront, with first and second row spots available for a donation of just $200 and $150 respectively. General admission tickets, which parking will be given to on a first come, first serve basis, are available for a donation of $45 per car! Limited tickets are available. To purchase tickets, or for additional information, visit: https://www.pspca.org/drivein2021

Halloween Festival
Society Hill
Join us for our annual PumpkinFest at the Headhouse Shambles at 2nd and Lombard! We’re excited to have the following spooky (and fun) activities the whole family can enjoy, including free pumpkin decorating, a pumpkin carving contest, circus performances, trick-or-treating at 100 participating local businesses, above-the-mask face painting, spooky snacks and bubbling brews.

Costume Bar Crawl
Center City
Come down and join in on the Halloween Costume Crawl in Philadelphia! You are in for a night of fun with tonnes of specials, giveaways and swag for you to enjoy. Your first drink will be included, and many of the bars will be selling lots of awesome drink and food specials. Get a group of friends together and get your tickets now!

Spooky Walking Tour
Old City
Discover the dark side of downtown Philadelphia history with Grim Philly Twilight Tours and their flagship walking tour, Vampires, Sex & Ghosts. This spooky tour for adults sets out to explore more than two dozen historical sites in just over 90 minutes, including not just familiar landmarks like Independence Hall and the Library of Congress, but also the seedy scenes of former gallows, the red light district, the slave auction blocks and such notoriously haunted structures as City Tavern. Hear chilling tales of pirate ghost ships, mass unmarked graves and more sordid stories the other tour guides leave out. No wonder Vampires, Sex & Ghosts was voted the city’s best tour on Channel 17’s Philly Hot List.

Haunted Pub Crawl
Old City
This ghost aficionado’s dream tour visits the sites of live Witch Trials, Founding Father’s graves, bodies stacked under colonial structures and colonial boneyard haunts in a one hour pre-pub historic site’s visit before entering the most haunted taverns known to Philadelphia.

Philly’s Haunted Locations
City-wide
Not a formal event; but there are a lot of haunted places in Philly that are worth checking out. I found this most haunted attractions in Philly guide (made by Visit Philly) that could be worth checking out if you are looking to get spooked. Click the icon below to read the guide.

Hound-o-ween
Northern Liberties
Halloween is going to the dogs once more as Northern Liberties Business Improvement District partners with Street Tail Animal Rescue on the 7th Annual Hound-O-Ween Fall Festival and Pet Costume Contest. The event is back in person and moves to the intersection of Laurel and N. 2nd Street, on Sunday, October 31st, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

Fall-Fest & Spooky Saturday
East Passyunk
In celebration of the fall season and Halloween, East Passyunk Avenue BID welcomes visitors to spend Saturday, October 30 partaking in festivities including a free costume photo booth (for children, adults, and pets), grab-and-go pumpkins, live music, digital scavenger hunt, trick or treating at businesses, and more. Grown-ups can enjoy entertainment, 40+ craft and arts vendors, seasonal fall food items, spirited cocktails, and so on.
