Meet Angel.

Angel’s journey in media started at Temple University’s Klein School of Media and Communications. After working at Wired 96.5 and 92.5 XTU, serving as a red carpet reporter in Hollywood and assistant to the Kardashians & Jenners, AND winning an Emmy in 2016 for her work on the Rio Olympics, Angel started ‘All of the Above’ podcast in February 2017 with executive producer Kevin S.

We had the pleasure to connect with Angel to learn more about her experiences, thoughts and her Philly favorites.

What is your inspiration? How did you get started?

I knew that I wanted to continue my career in media and began to hit a roadblock once I returned back home from L.A. In January 2017, my brother-in-law, Kevin, presented the idea of creating a podcast together. I was immediately interested and knew exactly what our focus should be, promoting and highlighting talented individuals in the Philadelphia community.

We launched ‘All of the Above’ podcast on February 8, 2017 and have since used our platform to interview a wide variety of independent artists and entrepreneurs. We have also used our platform to visit local and Black-owned businesses in our ‘Local Business Spotlight’ YouTube segments and create highlights of local community events. With over 196 episodes and 5 years as a podcaster, I have been fortunate to connect with amazing individuals and also represent my podcast to conduct celebrity interviews (such as the cast of BET series ‘Twenties,’ the cast of STARZ series ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan,’ Miriam A. Hyman from Showtime series ‘The Chi,’ and more).

What is something you wish all your followers/listeners knew about All of the Above?

I wish everyone knew that our goal is to make ‘All of the Above’ the go-to podcast for up and coming music artists and entrepreneurs to get their name largely recognized. We want to show our community that you do not have to leave Philly to become famous by moving to Los Angeles or New York, and that there’s so much talent right here in Philadelphia to be an entertainment hub. We genuinely focus on promoting and highlighting our guests and interview our guests free of charge.

Who’s been your favorite interviewee to date? Why?

My favorite interviewee to date is hands down my interview with producer, TaylorMade (Tyrell Taylor) from July 2017. He was full of so much light, energy, and great vibes. We became great friends after his interview and one year later we surprisingly began dating. Fast forward to today, we are currently married with a 3 month old son! If there is any reason to be thankful for the birth of ‘All of the Above’ podcast, it is because it led me to my new family and the love of my life.

If you could offer one piece of advice to new entrepreneurs, what would it be?

Never give up! Don’t solely rely on family and friends to support your business ventures, connect with your target audience and watch your business soar. And most importantly, do what makes YOU happy. As long as you love what you do, you’ll continue to flourish.
